Marco Dell’Aquila - Chairman and Founder
Marco is an investor, adviser, developer, author and professor with 27 years’ experience in the energy sector.
He founded and chairs Power Capital, a financial advisory firm which has won mandates of c. €13 billion since 1997. Marco has acted as Non-Executive Director of several energy companies and projects.
Within the renewable energy sector, Marco provides advice covering the impact of regulation, corporate strategy and management predominantly to developers and project owners.
Marco is also Adjunct Professor of Energy, Resources and Environment at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies. He is also a member of its European Advisory Council.
He co-founded Infrastructure Journal (now IJ Global) in 1997, which became the pre-eminent global online data & analysis provider to the infrastructure and energy sectors; Marco acted as its Editor-in-Chief until 2007.
In the 1990s, he was an Executive Director of General Electric Capital’s projects group based in London, developing and investing in energy projects in the EMEA region. Previously he was a regulatory economist providing advice to government, utilities and developers in the aftermath of the deregulation and privatisation of the UK electricity sector.
